May 04, 1941 retired RN Married 2

After graduation, I went to Deaconess Hospital in Milwaukee to become an RN. While working at West Allis Hospital, I met and married Emil Schmitz. We moved out to the country between Oconomowoc and Dousman. Had 2 daughters. I then worked in the ICU-CCU at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. After about 10 years there, I went to work at Shorehaven Nursing home in Oconomowoc.
I retired early to care for an ailing mother.
Emil died in 2002. I spent much time helping babysit my 5 grandchildren, playing sheepshead, and volunteering.
In 2007, I remarried a longtime friend and classmate, Paul Kronschnabel.
We have spent the last 2 winters in Texas---near Riviera.
Have been enjoying reading everyones story and looking forward to getting reacquainted.

Married
I'm sorry to say that I won't be attending the 50th reunion of my Graduation.  I'll regret that I was unable to visit all of my high school friends and see what course their lives have taken.  I'm sure you'll all have a wonderful time even though I am not there.

After graduation I went to work at the Amron Corp where I was employed for 18 years.

Janice and I were married in 1965 and built a home in North Prairie.

I left Amron in 1976 to own and operate my first motel, the Forest Manor Motel and Campground in Lebanon, MO.  Over the years I've owned a chain of motels never buying more tha Janice could run.

Janice and I have been together for forty four years and have now retired back to Lebanon, MO where we raise Missouri Foxtrotter horses.

In 1983 our daughter Vicki Lynn gave us a beautiful Granddaughter Amber making us Grandparents.  We now are Great Grandparents with Amber giving birth to Isabella.  Amber, Isabella and Joe live in Colorado Springs, CO.

All my best to all my classmates and if you're ever on your way to Branson, stop in and see us.

April 19, 1941 retired Widowed 2
After graduation, I attended Nursing School in Madison at Methodist Hospital, a 3 year diploma program. In my third year, on a blind date, I met an older (by 2 years) dude from Pennsylvania studying EE at the University. I fell hard and subsequently jumped into marriage with Don 7 months after our blind date, on the day after I graduated as an RN. To help pay Don's out-of-state tuition until HE graduated 18 months later, I worked at Mendota State Hospital on the male chronic ward. During our 34 year marriage, we had two daughters and lived in Minneapolis, San Diego, Phoenix, Colorado Springs, El Paso, and Breckenridge, CO. Don was moving around with Honeywell, and I worked as an RN in 6 states. While living in El Paso, we both were diagnosed and treated for cancer. I am an 18 year breast cancer survivor. Don had esophageal cancer. He had an 18 month remission. During those months, we built our retirement home in Breckenridge. Don designed it as a small B&B. He lived in it 5 days. I lived there 3 more years, enjoying alone what we'd planned to do together: skiing, hiking, snow-shoeing, shoveling, and running the B&B very part-time. I've been in Austin 10 years, near Amy, a part-time Ophthalmologist, Steve, and their 2 girls, 9 and 12. Amanda, divorced and in graduate school pursuing a Master's in Counseling, lives in LA with her 2 boys, 13 and 15. I live with Barbie and Ken, my standard poodle and her cat. I'm a political junkie, and only tolerate Texas because I live in central Austin. I have learned to enjoy traveling alone. And I hope I don't sound pathetic, because I'm actually quite the merry widow! Thanks Ron, for enabling me to get reacquainted with so many of our former classmates! I'll see you at the reunion.
